Buying
With Carolyn buying a racehorse is a disciplined, thoughtful process — guided by experience, horsemanship, and instinct.
Many have said I have “a tremendous eye for a horse.”
To me, that goes far beyond what I see.
“An eye for a horse goes well beyond what I see. It’s what I feel. And ultimately that’s what makes the difference.”
Of course, instinct must be supported by analysis. I evaluate:
- Pedigree strength and surface suitability
- Conformation and athleticism
- Movement and physical efficiency
- Temperament and presence
- Upbringing and consignor reputation
Sometimes the magic isn’t immediate. Occasionally it takes multiple inspections before a horse fully reveals itself to me. But when instinct, pedigree, and physical all align — Fireworks!!
My exciting buying history includes:
Saratoga Special (IRE) – 2026 runner up on U.S. debut in Wishing Well Stakes at Santa Anita Park
Will Happen – 2025 TDN Rising Star on debut at Santa Anita Park
Scipio – 2025 Baffle Stakes winner, multiple graded stakes placed as a two year-old
Lady Claypoole (IRE)– 2025 G3 Santa Ana Stakes Winner, G1 placed in Goldikova Stakes
Public Assembly – 2025 G3 Royal Heroine Stakes Winner
Selling
When you have devoted time, resources, and heart to breeding and raising exceptional horses they deserve to be presented with distinction!
I am a lifelong horsewoman with more than three decades in Thoroughbred racing, including over a decade working alongside Hall of Fame trainers. Most importantly, I carry a deep and abiding love for the horse.
I understand what it feels like to stand quietly in a large consignment, unsure if anyone knows where your horse is stabled — or worse, feeling that your insight about a horse you know intimately is overlooked.

Like you, I believe horses are not commodities. They are athletes, individuals, and investments of both capital and heart. They deserve every possible advantage — not only to sell well, but to thrive in their next chapter.
That is why I created a limited, boutique consignment experience — one that honors both the horse and the owner.
Here:
- You, the seller, are seen, heard, and genuinely valued.
- Your horses are thoughtfully prepared and beautifully presented.
- Every detail is managed with precision.
- And your horses are positioned to command the attention — and the price — they deserve.
If you believe your bloodstock deserves to be presented with intention and distinction, I would be honored to speak with you about joining our select consignment.
Let’s ensure your horses are not simply sold — but showcased.
Giving Back

At Conley Bloodstock, horsemanship does not end when the hammer falls.
By nature, I look after horses. Even after they pass through my hands, I often find myself following their journeys — and in some cases, bringing them home to join my growing herd of Off-the-Track Thoroughbreds. Horses like Mongolian Tank, now thriving as my Three-Day Eventer, and Limonite, who has reinvented himself as a Fox Hunter, are daily reminders that a racehorse’s story does not end at retirement.
But meaningful aftercare requires more than one person’s devotion. It requires an industry-wide commitment.
That is why I am deeply grateful to you — my clients — for your ongoing support of the Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance. As you know, a .05% contribution is automatically deducted by the sales companies from your proceeds and noted on your post-sale statements. Those funds play an essential role in supporting accredited aftercare organizations across the country.
Now, together, we can do even more.
Beginning with our 2026 consignments — and retroactively including 2025…
Conley Bloodstock will match our clients’ .05% contributions to the Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance.
This is our way of saying thank you — to you, and to the horses who make our work possible.
Because excellence in this industry is not measured solely by results in the sales ring or on the racetrack. It is measured by how we care for the Thoroughbred — before, during, and long after their racing careers.
Professionalism. Personal responsibility. Lifelong horsemanship.
That is our commitment.

Conley Bloodstock is committed to equine athletes at all stages in their career, and that includes their lives off the racetrack. As part of that commitment, Carolyn Conley is a proud supporter of the Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance.
The Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance accredits, inspects, and awards grants to aftercare organizations that retrain, re-home, and retire Thoroughbreds. Funds raised by the TAA are awarded to accredited organizations in the form of grants.
